Mike DeLuca, former executive Director of Finance at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle, WA, presents the case study of the transformation of the financial planning function in support of a lean organization. He begins with the business case for change, provides specific “how-to” examples that illustrate how he and his department implemented lean and evolved the department’s own internal operations, as well as how they changed both products and services to better support the lean organization and leadership team.

About the Facilitator:
Mike DeLuca has over 20 years of experience in Finance, currently as a consultant focusing primarily on lean process improvement in finance functions. Prior to his consulting work, Mike was the Executive Director of Finance at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle, WA, where he led a department of 25 directors, managers and analysts responsible for budgeting, forecasting, business analysis and reporting on operating divisions with an annual spend of nearly $3 billion. While at Group Health, he led the Lean transformation of his own department, evolved the role of the department to meet the changing needs of a Lean organization, and co-led the Lean transformation of the Financial Planning process across the enterprise.
